Mental Health and the Church
Sunny Wong will be leading a session on this important topic. Among the aims (listed below), the main thing is to begin and continue open and honest talk about mental health in our lives, families and the church.
Practice Alms Giving
During Lent, Christians are encouraged to give or give up something, to help us remember Christ’s sacrifice for us. Also, Almsgiving is a biblical practice of sharing generously with the poor (See Prov. 14:31; Matt. 25:31-46). Scripture teaches us to give to the poor as a response to God’s love, rather than as a way to gain attention to one’s self (Matt. 6:3). As a church, we want to care for the poor and needy in our city. An idea we want to encourage you to consider is to donate a grocery store gift card to a local ministry or charity to help and bless those in need. To help, RCAC is glad to help collect gift card donations for the poor. While we encourage you to give directly to any ministry or organization that helps the poor in Richmond, all gift cards received by us in our Offering Box will be passed onto the Richmond Food Bank. For more information, feel free to speak with any RCAC pastor or Eugene Au (email@example.com).
