Call to Worship
Led by Sunny

With our world infected with sickness and death;
With our city infected with loss and uncertainty;
With our hearts infected with fear, anger, and anxiety;

We cry:
My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?
Why are you so far from helping me, from the words of my groaning?

Our restlessness and frenzy give testament to our longing and yearning for meaning;
Getting healthy, getting to the next fad, getting back to ‘normal.’

O my God, I cry by day, but you do not answer;
And by night, but you do not answer

Father, help us be still in your presence.
Jesus, let us be in awe of your power over sin and death.
Spirit, infect our hearts with joy and peace.

Yet you are holy.
In you our ancestors trusted, and you delivered them.
To you they cried, and were saved.
In you they trusted, and were not put to shame.

- Based on Psalm 22:1-5

Come Behold the Wondrous Mystery
Led by Brendan

Come behold the wondrous mystery
In the dawning of the King
He the theme of heaven’s praises
Robed in frail humanity

In our longing, in our darkness
Now the light of life has come
Look to Christ, who condescended
Took on flesh to ransom us

Come behold the wondrous mystery
He the perfect Son of Man
In His living, in His suffering
Never trace nor stain of sin

See the true and better Adam
Come to save the hell-bound man
Christ the great and sure fulfillment
Of the law; in Him we stand

Come behold the wondrous mystery
Christ the Lord upon the tree
In the stead of ruined sinners
Hangs the Lamb in victory

See the price of our redemption
See the Father’s plan unfold
Bringing many sons to glory
Grace unmeasured, love untold

Come behold the wondrous mystery
Slain by death the God of life
But no grave could e’er restrain Him
Praise the Lord; He is alive!

What a foretaste of deliverance
How unwavering our hope
Christ in power resurrected
As we will be when he comes

What a foretaste of deliverance
How unwavering our hope
Christ in power resurrected
As we will be when he comes

Is He Worthy?
Led by Eugene

Do you feel the world is broken?
We do
Do you feel the shadows deepen?
We do

But do you know that all the dark
Won't stop the light from getting through?
We do

Do you wish that you could see it all made new?
We do

Is all creation groaning?
It is
Is a new creation coming?
It is

Is the glory of the Lord
To be the light within our midst?
It is

Is it good that we remind ourselves of this?
It is

Is anyone worthy?
Is anyone whole?
Is anyone able to break the seal and open the scroll?

The Lion of Judah who conquered the grave
He is David's Root
And the Lamb who died to ransom the slave

Is He worthy?
Is He worthy?
Of all blessing and honor and glory

Is He worthy of this?
He is

Does the Father truly love us?
He does
Does the Spirit move among us?
He does

And does Jesus our Messiah
Hold forever those He loves?
He does

Does our God intend to dwell again with us?
He does

Is anyone worthy?
Is anyone whole?
Is anyone able to break the seal and open the scroll?

The Lion of Judah who conquered the grave
He is David's Root
And the Lamb who died to ransom the slave

From ev'ry people and tribe every nation and tongue
He has made us a kingdom and priests
To God to reign with the Son

Is He worthy?
Is He worthy
Of all blessing and honor and glory?

Is He worthy?
Is He worthy
Is He worthy of this?
He is

He is!
He is!
He is!
He is!

He is worthy!
He is worthy
Of all blessing and honour and glory

He is worthy
He is worthy
He is worthy of this
He is!

Confession
Led by Sunny

Almighty God, you brought Jesus back to life and you shattered the power of sin and death. Father, we have stubborn and hardened hearts. We confess that at times we do not acknowledge Jesus’ victory over death nor Your sovereignty over our lives. We do not live and witness to the truth of Your love, mercy and sovereignty.

We do not live and witness to the truth of Your love, mercy and sovereignty. When risks of discipleship are high, we run away. We turn away from the poor and the hungry, and are deaf to the cries of the oppressed and indifferent to the calls for justice and shalom.

In the light of Jesus’ resurrection from the dead, our sinfulness and shame are exposed. And yet, your grace is revealed in full. Forgive us and restore us in the light of that very grace.

In the name of Jesus Christ, who defeated every sin and death we pray, Amen.

Take the time to enter into silent confession, knowing He hears your prayers.

Assurance of Pardon
Hebrews 4:14-16 NIV
Led by Sunny

14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess.
15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. 16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Before The Throne
Led by Pastor Jason

Before the throne of God above
I have a strong and perfect plea
A great High Priest whose name is Love
Who ever lives and pleads for me

My name is graven on His hands
My name is written on His heart
I know that while in heav'n He stands
No tongue can bid me thence depart
No tongue can bid me thence depart

When Satan tempts me to despair
And tells me of the guilt within
Upward I look and see Him there
Who made an end to all my sin

Because the sinless Saviour died
My sinful soul is counted free
For God the Just is satisfied
To look on Him and pardon me
To look on Him and pardon me

Behold Him there the risen Lamb
My perfect spotless righteousness
The great unchangeable I Am
The King of glory and of grace

One with Himself I cannot die
My soul is purchased with His blood
My life is hid with Christ on high
With Christ my Saviour and my God
With Christ my Saviour and my God

I bow before the cross of Christ
And marvel at this love divine
God's perfect Son was sacrificed
To make me righteous in God's eyes

This river's depths I cannot know
But I can glory in its flood
The Lord Most High has bowed down low
And poured on me His glorious love
And poured on me His glorious love

Staying Connected: Update from Eugene Au and IJM Canada

We want to stay connected not only with one another, but with the people and organizations RCAC supports. These times continue to be challenging in so many small and big ways. Let's hear how others are adapting to our changing world, especially in the ongoing work of the church.

Today, we get to hear from Eugene Au, Director of Development and Mobilization, International Justice Mission of Canada (www.ijm.ca).

Jesus the Great High Priest

14 Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Lead Me to the Cross
Led by Sunny and Natasha

Saviour I come quiet my soul
Remember redemption's hill
Where Your blood was spilled
For my ransom

Everything I once held dear
I count it all as loss

Lead me to the cross
Where Your love poured out
Bring me to my knees
Lord I lay me down

Rid me of myself
I belong to You
Oh lead me lead me to the cross

You were as I tempted and tried human
The word became flesh
Bore my sin in death
Now You're risen

Everything I once held dear
I count it all as loss

Lead me to the cross
Where Your love poured out
Bring me to my knees
Lord I lay me down

Rid me of myself
I belong to You
Lord lead me
Lead me

To Your heart
To Your heart
Lead me to Your heart
Lead me to Your heart

Lead me to the cross
Where Your love poured out
Bring me to my knees
Lord I lay me down

Rid me of myself
I belong to You
Oh lead me lead me to the cross

Lord of Lords
Led by Natasha and Sunny

Beholding Your beauty is all that I long for
To worship You Jesus is my sole desire
For this very heart
You have shaped for Your pleasure
Purposed to lift Your Name higher

Here in surrender in pure adoration
I enter Your courts with an offering of praise
I am Your servant come to bring You glory
As is fit for the works of Your hands

Now unto the Lamb
Who sits on the throne
Be glory and honour and praise
All of creation resounds with the song
Worship and praise Him
The Lord of lords

Spirit now living and dwelling within me
Keep my eyes fixed ever on Jesus' face
Let not the things of this world ever sway me
I'll run 'til I finish the race

Now unto the Lamb
Who sits on the throne
Be glory and honour and praise
All of creation resounds with the song
Worship and praise Him the Lord

All of eternity echoes the song
Worship and praise Him
The Lord of lords

Holy Lord
You are holy
Jesus Christ is the Lord

Holy Lord
You are holy
Jesus Christ is the Lord

Holy Lord
You are holy
Jesus Christ is the Lord

Now unto the Lamb
Who sits on the throne
Be glory and honour and praise
Call all the sinners to join in the song
Worship and praise Him
The Lord of lords

Lord of lords
Lord of lords
Lord of lords
